Sharepoint assists mainly in web content management and document management and along with that it allows management and development of Intranet portals,Extranets,websites,document and file management,collaboration spaces,social tools,enterprise search,business intelligence,process integration,system integration,workflow automation and core infrastructure for third party solutions.
Sharepoint integrates almost all the Microsoft products in some or the other way and this is one of the striking features of Sharepoint.
